Essential to the vitality of our Association is its inter-disciplinary nature. Members include psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, marriage and family counselors, educators, clergy, as well as interns and students with varying theoretical orientations. The fellowship is close, warm, and supportive. Our members enjoy the stimulation of talking with and learning from colleagues with expertise in many professional areas of mutual interest and concern.

Our focus is on the constant improvement of group psychotherapy techniques and processes. As our educational programs demonstrate, we are strongly committed to the educational process. Our programs offer educational opportunities for the student, novice and experienced professional to increase their understanding of the latest research and techniques in group process. Our aim to offer a venue for professional mental health practitioners of all disciplines to increase their clinical knowledge, improve their clinical skills, and keep abreast of the current trends in group psychotherapy.

We are a Southern California organization committed to serve in our local and regional community. We are committed to educating the public and other professionals about the efficacy of group psychotherapy in the treatment of people who suffer form a variety emotional, psychological, and behavioral concerns. Through our membership directory we offer referrals to licensed professional practitioners experienced in the group psychotherapy modality.
