After attending New York University for my B.A. degree and Antioch University
L.A. for my Masters degree, I began a mid-life career as a Marriage
and Family Therapist. I spent 10 years as the lead therapist/social
worker with Ventura County Public Health working with hundreds of individuals
infected and affected by HIV and AIDS.
Simultaneously I began my private practice in Los Angeles working with
individuals, couples and families facing a variety of life problems
and concerns (relationship difficulties, depression, anxiety, gender
issues, career and other transitions, bereavement, parenting issues,
etc.)
In addition to my private practice, I teach "The Assessment and
Clinical Treatment of HIV and AIDS" in the Educational Psychology
Extension Program of Cal. State Northridge and am a certified instructor
of "Systematic Training in Effective Parenting".
Because my "first professional life" was as an actress and
producer, I also work with many creative clients dealing with the difficulties
and demands of their unpredictable professional lives. Theoretically,
my work is based on a combination of psychodynamic, humanistic, family
systems and cognitive-behavioral principles
