Services and Approach Offered

Therapeutic Approach

I use an eclectic approach, with an emphasis on cognitive-behavioral therapy and mind-body therapy. My unique approach utilizes the most current literature on the assessment and treatment of psychological concerns. I take into consideration and utilize theories and perspectives that fit the individual’s unique background, current situation, needs and values. I am "straight forward" and will work collaboratively with you to meet your needs and goals. I readily refer to other professionals for a variety of issues, including those that may be beyond my expertise and to a psychiatrist who provides medication consultation.

I believe that group therapy is such a valuable approach to personal growth and healing. It is in relationship that we become wounded. It is in relationship that we heal. I offer grief and loss groups, as well asl mixed relationship and empowerment groups. They are a safe place to explore interpersonal and intrapersonal conflicts and blockss to personal and spiritual growth….to becoming a more fulfilled "you".

Time Management and Organizational Coaching

In 1985, I founded of A Time Out, a company that provides time management and organizing services to individuals, professionals, educational institutions, hospitals and businesses. I created an acronym, S.P.A.C.E. (Spiritual, Physical, Affect, Cognitive and Environment) which represents all of the areas in which we spend time. Using this concept teaches businesses and individuals how to create balance in their lives in order to lower their stress and to have a better quality of living. I have conducted successful time management workshops, seminars and private sessions throughout California for many years. Having been a longtime member of the National Association of Professional Organizers, I served as a consultant and educated about the psychological components of disorganization. The company’s unique approach is based on extensive research and real-world experience with educators, psychiatrists, mental health professionals and time management/organizing professionals.
